Event Description

Saturday 12 May is World Fairtrade Day when we aim to link with Fairtraders round the world to promote and celebrate our cause. This year the theme is the Big Fairtrade Breakfast and in Brent we’ll be serving Fairtrade fare on the Forecourt of Harlesden Methodist Church, 25 High St, NW10 4NE, from 10am. Do join us to enjoy some breakfast or brunch, to help serve if you can and to promote Fairtrade.

At our 3 April Steering Group we agreed to apply for a grant to help strengthen our volunteer network and our communications. Our current objectives are:

•      promote the concept of Fairtrade

 •      raise awareness of the FAIRTRADE Mark

•      seek to maintain Fairtrade Borough status for the London Borough of Brent

•      promote the sale, consumption and use of Fairtrade goods in the London Borough of Brent

•      participate in regional, national and international activities of the Fairtrade movement as appropriate.

We are looking out for events in Brent during the summer where we can spread the Fairtrade message. If you would like to suggest events or to help run a stall please let us know.
