Event Description

This transition town group is now 3 years old - Happy Birthday to us!! Our birthday gives us a chance both to reflect on what we have achieved over this time, and to plan for the future.
According to our website, we now have almost 700 members and we have hosted over 200 events!
Since we started we done so much of which we can be immensely proud, including film nights and many other profile raising and educational events, such as our incredibly popular apple juicing stalls at Queens Park day and other community events.
Local fruit harvesters now has over 100 volunteers on its books and has picked over 5 tons of fruit, taught many people to prune fruit trees, more to make chutneys and run a very successful fruit tree planting project in South Kilburn.
We have an active food group that has started a wide variety of projects and events, most notably the 5 wonderful community allotments that are now growing in the area.
We have bees in the cemetery, we have run draught busting workshops, we have a knitting group and we've helped other transition town groups get started.
So we have much to look back on...
...but now we want to move forward. We have an initiating group that has tried to be a central place, an initiator and a coordinator of projects and events. We want to reinvigorate and reorganise this group to bring in new people to refresh it and to keep its energy moving us forward and growing. We might rename it as the Central Hub or perhaps even "the Fertilizer" - its up to YOU! The group overall will become more resilient and more energetic with some new faces with new ideas...
So your Transition Town needs YOU! If you would like to be involved or have a say in the next steps and stage of development in Transition Town Kensal to Kilburn, please come along to an open meeting to be held at St Annes Church rotunda on Salusbury Road on Thursday 21st June at 7.30pm.
Please bring food and drink to share.
