Event Description

As you will know, we are facing a serious water shortage this year as a result of two very dry winters with below rainfall for 19 of the past 24 months.  Although our reservoirs are full, groundwater levels in some parts of our region are at extremely low levels.

Water companies are encouraging customers to use water wisely but I am writing to confirm that from Thursday 5 April 2012,  they will introduce a Temporary Use Ban (formerly a 'hosepipe' ban) on domestic customers. Drought%20Briefing%20Note%20March%202012%20-%20Local%20Authorities.pdf
